Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Mechanical Design Engineering Lead to provide technical leadership for our design engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in precision machining and be experienced in driving process improvements and implementing new technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to the design engineering team.
  • Review and approve work completed by the engineering team to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Coordinate design work, communicate project timelines to stakeholders, and ensure timely completion.
  • Drive improvements in engineering processes and actively assist in their implementation.
  • Author technical reports documenting recommendations and observations.
  • Manage individual and team projects, including product design, drawing verification, and release.
  • Reverse engineer legacy components for compressor repairs.
  • Support the shop with repair specifications.
  • Influence and advise Account Managers, Customer Service, and customers on technical matters.
  • Contribute to the development of solutions and proposals.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 8+ years of experience in the compression industry.
  • Experience coaching/leading a team of professional engineers preferred.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and implementing new technologies.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles.
  • Proficient in CAD model and drawing creation using Autodesk Inventor for CNC and manual machining processes.
  • Familiarity with precision measurement tools and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
