Staff Development Specialist

At Hillcrest Commons Extended Care, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Staff Development Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our staff receives the training and education they need to provide exceptional care to our residents.
Responsibilities:- Schedule and Coordinate In-Service Training: Develop and implement a comprehensive training program that meets the educational needs of our staff, including mandated in-services and annual training requirements.
- Collaborate with Department Heads: Work closely with department heads to ensure employee participation in training programs and to identify areas for improvement.
- Document Training and Compliance: Maintain accurate records of training completion and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Coordinate New Employee Orientation: Develop and implement a comprehensive orientation program for new employees, ensuring that they receive the necessary training and support to succeed in their roles.
- Act as a Resource for Staff: Provide guidance and support to staff members on personnel educational needs, including infection control, abuse prevention, and sensitivity training.
- Implement Career Ladder Paths: Work with the facility management team and the BHCS Education Department to implement career ladder paths and support employees in their professional development.
- Attend Educational In-Services: Stay up-to-date with the latest training and education requirements by attending in-services and workshops.
- Encourage Staff Development: Promote a culture of continuous learning and development among staff members, encouraging them to take advantage of educational programs and opportunities.
- Licensure: Must be a licensed RN nurse in the state of Massachusetts.
- Experience: Five (5) years' Long Term care experience preferred, with 2-3 years of nursing management experience and acute hospital medical/surgical experience desirable.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of state, federal, local regulations and JCAHO accreditation requirements, as well as the ability to communicate effectively and maintain confidentiality.
- Competitive Salary: $80,000 - $98,000 per year (based on years of experience)
