INFORMATION SECURITY SPECIALIST


Join our team at Systems Technologies as an Information Security Specialist, where you will play a crucial role in enhancing our cybersecurity measures. This position involves guiding the formulation of cybersecurity policies, as well as the design and implementation of security frameworks for our systems.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


As an integral part of our team, you will:

  • Develop and refine cybersecurity policies in alignment with industry standards.
  • Possess a solid understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and applicable security guidelines.
  • Implement security measures that comply with FIPS 140-2 and NIST frameworks, ensuring robust cybersecurity solutions.
  • Oversee incident response processes and conduct thorough analyses of security scans.
  • Establish and uphold security protocols throughout the organization, including the installation and evaluation of cybersecurity tools.

QUALIFICATIONS


The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Cyber Security, or a related discipline.
  • DoD 8570 certifications for IAT Level III or IAM Level II.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in DoD network management and engineering.
  • At least 4 years of specialized experience in Cyber Security, including proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Java, and PowerShell.
  • Hands-on experience with various cybersecurity tools used in DoD environments, including ACAS Security Center, Nessus Scanner, and other security technologies.


Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with the ability to create documentation, presentations, and network diagrams using tools like PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Visio.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE


Familiarity with tools such as Ansible, Elastic (ELK) stack, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Firewall/IPS/Panorama, Kafka, virtual machines, and container technologies is advantageous.


SECURITY CLEARANCE


An active DoD Secret clearance is required for this position.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS


Willingness to travel up to 50% is expected.
