Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our team at Longo Toyota. As a Quality Control Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting vehicles to ensure they meet manufacturer and quality specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect vehicles to ensure body work meets manufacturer and quality specifications
- Ensure mechanical parts are replaced in accordance with repair orders, manufacturer, and quality specifications
- Inspect repaired vehicles for dimensional accuracy
- Read and interpret work orders, inspection manuals, and other materials to determine inspection and testing procedures
- Monitor progress and completion of vehicles to ensure proper repair and safety procedures are followed
- Communicate with Used Car Office and Shop Supervisor on status of vehicles being inspected
- Return vehicles to technicians that do not meet quality standards
- Operate tools and equipment in a safe manner and maintain them in a proper state of repair
- Assist in all other areas of the UCD as needed
- Maintain assigned workspace in an organized and clean manner
- Maintain high ethical standards in all actions
- Maintain a high level of grooming, hygiene, and uniform appearance
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Comprehensive knowledge of automotive repair and automobile paint standards
- Bureau of Automotive Repair rules and regulations
- Fully proficient in mathematical principles (adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying, and percentages)
- Ability to coordinate activities with other employees
- Great attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Must work well with the public; communicate in a professional manner on the phone, internet, and in person; and use standard office equipment
- Must have a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable and safe driving record
- Must maintain high ethical standards in all actions
Working Conditions:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Individual will be required to:
- Frequently bend, stretch, twist, or reach with their body, arms, and/or legs; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions including low and high temperatures, precipitation, and wind, noisy environments, and small and/or enclosed spaces
- Adjusting, moving, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds
- Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
- Operating motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
