The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) is seeking a highly skilled Water Resources Engineering Manager to join our team. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects that contribute to the state's efforts in ensuring a secure water future for Texas and its citizens.

Job Summary
This is a key leadership role that requires expertise in flood risk reduction projects, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, mapping, planning, design, and construction. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills to manage multiple tasks and schedule work to maintain regular progress on assignments and meet deadlines. They will also be expected to develop and implement policies and procedures, make mature, objective decisions to identify areas of potential problems and mitigate risks, and travel 10% of the time, primarily within the State of Texas.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include managing project schedules, budgets, and requirements, working with contractors, and overseeing the development and management of contracts. You will also be expected to communicate effectively with stakeholders, develop and implement policies and procedures, and make mature, objective decisions to identify areas of potential problems and mitigate risks. Additionally, you will need to travel 10% of the time, primarily within the State of Texas.

Qualifications
Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in Planning, Water Resources/Civil/Environmental Engineering, or related field. A minimum of seven years of relevant professional experience in flood risk reduction projects, flood-related planning, mitigation, response or recovery, water resources planning, and/or flood modeling and mapping is required. Three years of progressively responsible professional work experience leading projects/programs or supervising staff is also necessary. A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the state of Texas or another U.S. state with the ability to obtain a Texas P.E. license within six months of hire is preferred.
