Job Summary

Toledo Steel Supply is a leading steel supplier seeking a skilled Blanchard Grinder Operator to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for operating 48" to 100" Blanchard Grinders to grind flat surfaces to precise tolerances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate overhead and/or jib cranes to move materials and equipment
  • Setup, adjust, and operate rotary wheel Blanchard grinders to achieve optimal grinding results
  • Plan and execute operating procedures for flat grinding, ensuring compliance with quality standards
  • Make adjustments to calibrate machines, using scale, micrometers, and indicators to achieve precise tolerances and finish requirements
  • Work from part drawings, specifications, and grinding instructions to ensure accurate and efficient grinding processes
  • Use magnetic tables and chucks or clamps to position and secure workpieces on machine tables, ensuring proper support and minimizing distortion
  • Select and utilize statistical tools to maintain process control and quality reliability
  • Inspect and maintain work areas and machine fluid levels daily
Requirements
  • Rotary Blanchard grinding experience required
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings
  • Experience utilizing forklifts and straightening presses
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with attention to detail
  • Familiarity with machine tools and equipment, including common machine shop measuring tools
Work Environment and Physical Demands

This position operates in a manufacturing shop environment, with exposure to noise, chemicals, and materials consistent with a manufacturing environment. The role requires physical strength to lift materials up to 50lbs and endure prolonged standing.
