The Duval County Public School is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Athletic Trainer to join our team. As an Athletic Trainer, you will be responsible for providing top-notch medical care to our student-athletes, ensuring their safety and well-being during sports activities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement an effective athletic training program for high school athletics, maintaining a clean and organized athletic training facility.
- Provide first aid, assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning for student-athletes, as well as visiting athletes competing at the school.
- Coordinate annual required athletic physicals and supervise medical clearance of injured athletes prior to and during sport seasons.
- Communicate effectively with supervising physicians, parents, and school administrators regarding athletic healthcare and recommended treatment for injuries.
- Record all injuries using designated tools and maintain accurate records of CPR/AED certification for school athletic department staff.
- Assist coaching staff in evaluating and implementing sport-specific conditioning programs and methods.
- Oversee ordering of supplies and equipment related to the athletic training facility and manage inventory.
- Create a safe playing environment by monitoring and controlling environmental risks and performing routine inspections on school AEDs.
- Establish educational opportunities for students interested in health sciences and share professional literature on injury prevention with coaching staff.
- Bachelor's degree in athletic training or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Two years of athletic training experience, with experience in middle and high school sports programs preferred.
- Current Certified Athletic Trainer certification and state licensure in accordance with the Florida Board of Athletic Training.
- CPR/Emergency Cardiac Care certification for the Professional Responder.
