Mental Health Therapist Position in Massachusetts

At Optum Behavioral Care, we're revolutionizing behavioral health care delivery for individuals and families. As a Licensed Clinical Therapist / Independent Licensed Therapist, you'll play a crucial role in treating a wide variety of mental health conditions that reflect the needs of our diverse patient population.
About the RoleYou will provide patients with behavioral and mental health treatments, including individual and group therapy, medication management, and intensive outpatient programs. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Forming excellent provider-patient alliances and coordinating care with external providers
- Conducting outpatient psychiatric evaluations and providing ongoing medication management
- Participating in the training experience of our graduate students
- Screening and assessing patients for common mental health and substance abuse disorders
- Providing treatment for various mental health conditions using evidence-based methods
- Systematically tracking treatment response and monitoring patients for changes in clinical symptoms and treatment side effects or complications
- Representing the practice in community presentations and lectures
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (Athena) and clinical documentation, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
To be successful in this position, you'll need to have:
- A Master's degree in psychology, social work, or a related counseling field
- A clear, active, and unrestricted license (LICSW, LMFT, LMHC, or LPC) in Massachusetts
- 2+ years of professional social work/clinical experience post-Master's degree (preferred)
- Experience providing direct psychotherapy services to individuals and families (preferred)
- Experience working with computers for professional communication and medical documentation (Excel, Outlook, Athena RMS, or other EHRs)
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively with equal effectiveness
