Highway Freight Hauler

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Highway Freight Hauler to join our team at ABF Freight. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for the safe transportation of cargo trailers across various long-distance routes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coupling and uncoupling trailers from tractors and other trailers
• Driving for extended periods
• Performing tasks such as check-in, tractor/trailer inspection, setup, and pickup/delivery of cargo

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

• 21 years of age or older
• 1 year of verifiable tractor/trailer experience (candidates with less than 1-year experience may be eligible for training)
• Class-A CDL with doubles/triples, tanker, and hazardous materials endorsements
• Good stable work record
• Safe driving record
• Ability to pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and meet DOT medical requirements

Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including:

• Road tractors average less than 18 months in age
• Fully air-conditioned equipment
• Preventive Maintenance Program for all ABF equipment
• Wages - Teamster Union Scale with over-the-road mileage rate
