Our client, a prominent manufacturer in the glass and metal sector, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to enhance their operational team.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Adheres to established safety protocols and procedures to ensure safe work practices. Completes necessary training promptly, including compliance and on-the-job training.

Enhances production efficiency.
Installs and services air compressors, plant air circulation systems, heating and cooling units, and facility lighting.
Conducts preventative maintenance on electrical systems, production machinery, and the facility as needed.
Troubleshoots, repairs, installs, assembles, relocates, and/or disassembles various types of machinery and auxiliary production equipment.

Evaluates job sites and equipment for dismantling, assembly, or relocation, interprets blueprints and schematics, estimates load weights, clearances, and recommends necessary support equipment.

Fabricates sheet metal and structural components as required: guarding, steps, stairs, conveyors, elevators, platforms, and sets in place.
Performs diverse manual or mechanical production tasks by operating, adjusting, and repairing production equipment to meet client specifications.
Disassembles, overhauls, and refurbishes production machinery.
Inspects in-process materials and both in-process and finished products.
Maintains records as directed by management.
Identifies all supplies and tools necessary for each task.
Capable of effectively using all industrial shop and millwright tools and fabricating precision components.
Must be knowledgeable about the electronic components of production equipment and possess a solid understanding of basic line control equipment.
Should be proficient in welding common materials to achieve effective and presentable results.

Must understand and utilize basic testing equipment such as volt/ohm meters, amp meters, and voltage testers, among others.

Should communicate effectively with peers and supervisors while maintaining accurate records and logs.
Must take direction and work independently, be safety-conscious, and adhere to plant policies and procedures.
Must logically resolve construction and machinery issues.
Must diagnose and rectify problems in a timely manner.
Must keep work areas, tools, panels, and equipment organized and tidy.
Should be self-motivated, professional, and maintain a positive attitude towards supervisors and colleagues.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Broad training in a related field typically acquired through high school education or equivalent.
A minimum of 4 years of job-related experience.
Completion of required on-the-job and classroom training.

Working knowledge of the following areas: terminology of all assigned equipment, mechanical devices, transmission systems, interface units, AC/DC motors, wiring diagrams and schematics, computers, inspection, and digital devices, as well as the operating principles of all assigned equipment.

Ability to effectively train personnel.
Ability to utilize basic hand and power tools.
Ability to operate electronic testing equipment.
Must have a strong interest in and aptitude for mechanics.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Ability to operate and effectively use a computer.
Ability to work across multiple departments.
Completes individual assignments as directed by management.
Must adhere to company policies, procedures, practices, and standards of conduct.
Maintains awareness of and complies with hazardous waste management and other environmental management requirements in the workplace.
Must sustain professional competence, ethical integrity, knowledge, and skills.
