We are seeking a skilled Carpentry Specialist to join our team in the Twin Cities area.
This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $20.00 - $30.00 per hour, based on experience.
Job Responsibilities- Perform various carpentry tasks, including constructing, repairing, restoring, and installing structural woodwork and related materials.
- Adhere to established safety rules and regulations by passing a safety test and following all safety procedures.
- Communicate effectively with crew members and foremen, follow directions provided by lead carpenters or foremen, and prioritize daily duties.
- Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layouts and determine dimensions and materials required.
- Provide personal tools as required.
- Measure, calculate, and mark cutting lines on materials accurately, using rulers, pencils, chalk, and marking gauges; shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
- Square walls and install sheathing correctly.
- Assemble and fasten materials to make frameworks or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue; install structures and fixtures, such as windows, frames, flooring, and trim, or hardware, using carpenter's hand and power tools.
- Select and supply crew members, carpenters, and leads with materials.
- Use proper nailing procedures for all applications.
- Use hand, pneumatic, and other power tools to measure, cut, and install sheathing for walls and roofs, and all wall components.
- Finish, inspect, and ensure work complies with quality standards and expectations.
- Maintain a clean and safe jobsite.
- Comply with our company's attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Prior completion of an apprenticeship program, certificate, or degree program at a vocational school or community college (e.g., Certificate of Achievement in Carpentry Technology, an Associate of Applied Science in Carpentry-Building Trades, or an Associate of Applied Science in Carpentry) is preferred.
- Less than 1 year of carpentry experience in the commercial and/or residential sectors is required.
- The ability to communicate, read, comprehend, and comply with our company policies and procedures, including safety and security, is essential.
- Good basic math skills are necessary.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
