About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Operations Specialist to join our team. This role involves working with our Advanced Operations (AO) team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production environments. As a key member of this team, you will work closely with development teams and Point Operations (PO) to design and deliver high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and delivering critical stack components, focusing on security, resiliency, scale, and performance.
  • Collaborating with development teams and PO to define and implement improvements in service architecture.
  • Articulating technical characteristics of services and technology areas, guiding development teams to enhance the Oracle Cloud service portfolio.
  • Acting as the ultimate point of contact for complex or critical issues not yet documented as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other STEM-related fields, or equivalent professional experience and consistent career growth.
  • Experience with Linux (or any UNIX OS) System Administration, Networking, Storage, Compute, and Virtualization.
  • Strong familiarity with cloud concepts, platforms, distributed systems, and networking.
  • Cybersecurity awareness and experience (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
