Nurse Specialist

PennState Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team. As a Registered Nurse in this critical care setting, you will have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care to critically ill newborns and their families.
Job Summary:The Registered Nurse in the NICU will be responsible for assessing patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and maintaining accurate medical records. You will work closely with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care, including administering medications, monitoring patient conditions, and providing emotional support to patients and families.
Responsibilities:- Assess patient health problems and needs, and develop and implement individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor patient conditions and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and families
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care
To be considered for this role, you must be a licensed Registered Nurse with current licensure in the state of employment or hold a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact. BLS certification is required prior to orientation completion, and ACLS certification is required prior to the end of the orientation period. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred, and experience in neonatal intensive care is highly desirable.
