The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Full-Time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our esteemed Department of Anesthesiology. The CRNA will play a vital role in our healthcare team by:
- Collaborating with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to administer anesthesia for various medical and surgical interventions.
- Providing comprehensive care to patients before, during, and after procedures by conducting thorough assessments, preparing patients for anesthesia, and ensuring effective sedation and pain relief throughout the process.
- Monitoring patient recovery from anesthesia and addressing immediate post-operative requirements.
- Conducting pre-operative evaluations of surgical patients and delivering anesthesia under the supervision of an anesthesiologist.
- Performing pre- and post-anesthesia consultations and meticulously documenting anesthesia records.
- Reviewing patient medical histories, assessing conditions, and determining appropriate anesthesia techniques.
- Executing or assessing diagnostic evaluations, including radiographs and electrocardiograms.
- Carefully measuring and regulating the administration of anesthesia.
- Monitoring vital signs to ensure patient safety, including assessing skin color, pupil response, pulse, heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, and urine output, while communicating patient status to the supervising physician.
- Managing airway and pulmonary function using various techniques, including intubation, mechanical ventilation, and pharmacological support.
- Overseeing patient recovery from anesthesia and addressing immediate post-operative needs.
- Preparing and administering prescribed anesthetic solutions, including local, intravenous, and spinal methods, in accordance with established protocols.
- Responding effectively to emergency situations by providing airway management, administering fluids or medications, and utilizing basic or advanced life support techniques.
- Formulating individualized anesthesia care plans.
- Adhering to institutional policies and procedures while safeguarding organizational assets.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Master's Degree and graduation from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program (CRNA).
- A valid CRNA license in Florida, along with BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
