Job Title: Postdoctoral Research Associate

Gallaudet University is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our Quandt Action & Brain Lab team. As a key member of our research team, you will work on a grant-funded multidisciplinary research project focused on developing AI-powered learning technologies for Deaf and hard of hearing individuals.

Job Summary:

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will work closely with the Action and Brain Lab Director and other team members to design, implement, and evaluate new technologies that promote inclusive education. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Co-designing and prototyping AI-powered learning technologies with Deaf undergraduates
  • Leading day-to-day tasks to advance the primary research program
  • Conducting user experience and evaluation testing
  • Analyzing data gathered from training sessions, user studies, and evaluation studies
  • Participating in regular lab meetings and providing supervision to graduate students and/or undergraduate research assistants
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A doctoral degree in education, human-computer engineering, psychology, learning sciences, or a related field
  • A minimum of one year of professional experience with academic research in education, psychology, educational technology, or a related field
  • Ability to communicate in American Sign Language
Preferred Qualifications:
