Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Floor Care Tech to join our team at MercyOne Northeast Iowa. As a key member of our Environmental Services department, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform floor care and maintenance tasks throughout the facility, including hard surfaces and carpeting.
  • Clean and maintain floor equipment, requesting assistance from plant operations and maintenance as needed.
  • Participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives, including initiatives to improve HCAHPS scores related to hospital cleanliness.
  • Perform project work and specialty tasks as needed, including conference room setup and cleaning of stairwells and elevators.
  • Adhere to all safety, infection control, and colleague health policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School or Equivalent
  • 1-year Environmental Services Experience
  • Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) desired
  • Practices critical thinking skills, including prioritization
  • Identifies and utilizes appropriate resources to resolve problems or concerns
