Job Summary:

We are seeking a Seafood Clerk to join our team at Hy-Vee, Inc. As a Seafood Clerk, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and ensuring that our seafood products are fresh and of high quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment by restocking shelves, sweeping and mopping floors, and disposing of trash and recyclables.
  • Ensure that our seafood products are fresh and of high quality by rotating stock, checking expiration dates, and reporting any issues to management.
  • Work effectively with other team members to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Food Safety training required.
  • Previous related work experience preferred.

Working Conditions:

This position is continually exposed to a cool environment and dampness. There is frequent noise from the saws, exposure to cleaning solvents, and possibility of electrical shock. This is a fast-paced work environment.

Equipment:

Knives, Grinders, Patty Maker, Slicer, Pallet jack, Tumbler, and Wrapping system.

Contacts:

Deals with customers on a daily basis and vendors/suppliers on an as-needed basis.
