The Geriatric Psychiatric Nursing Assistant plays a vital role in offering care to patients in the NVS Geri Psych department. Key responsibilities include aiding patients with daily activities and ensuring a secure environment under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with daily living activities
  • Deliver fundamental nursing care to geriatric psychiatric patients
  • Ensure a safe and hygienic environment
  • Relay patient needs to the healthcare team
  • Observe and report changes in patient conditions
  • Comply with established standards of care
  • Treat patients and their families with dignity and respect

Job Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a certified nursing assistant program
  • CNA Certification or current RN student with clinical experience
  • Current BLS certification
  • Previous relevant work experience is preferred
