UTMB Health is seeking a skilled Vocational Nurse to provide direct nursing care to patients in a correctional setting. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, while adhering to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, including administering medications and treatments, and performing procedures as needed.
- Participate in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, using the nursing plan of care as a guide.
- Notify appropriate nursing and medical staff of changes in patient status, and recognize patient care priorities, multidisciplinary treatment plans, and potential patient care crises.
- Follow physician's orders, and maintain patient's privacy and confidentiality of information and records at all times.
- Adhere to required infection control, isolation procedures, and aseptic techniques in the delivery of patient care.
- Graduation from a Licensed Vocational Nurse Program and current license/permit as a vocational nurse in the State of Texas.
- No experience required, but current BLS-HP certification is required.
- Will consider recent graduates with temporary permits.
