Position Overview:

The Agile Project Coordinator role is integral to the Northern Trust Omnium Change Management team, focusing on supporting the software development lifecycle for the Omnium Platform. This multi-tenant platform primarily serves Hedge Fund Services (HFS), a global fund administrator specializing in intricate hedge funds and alternative asset investments. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter with a proven ability to lead strategically in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. A strong technical foundation, experience in the Financial Services sector, and a history of resolving business challenges, managing projects, and fostering internal/external relationships are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee strategic development execution to support the Omnium Platform and various segment stakeholders/clients.
  • Manage the software development pipeline, from feature prioritization to coordinating deployment to production.
  • Exhibit T-shaped skills in agile project management, scrum mastering/agile coaching, release planning, and project management.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with development managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to prioritize development and coordinate testing and release management.
  • Conduct backlog grooming and prioritization using tools like Azure Boards in collaboration with business sponsors and development teams, aligning with client and business objectives.
  • Report on development team activities and prepare visualizations of development roadmaps for stakeholder transparency.
  • Lead release planning activities to ensure successful production delivery, coordinating testing timelines and supporting production efforts.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement across teams and recommend process enhancements to optimize delivery execution.
  • Utilize sound judgment to escalate issues appropriately, including potential solutions and impacts to facilitate effective decision-making.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking to connect opportunities and drive projects forward while resolving challenges.
  • Exhibit leadership within the team, effectively leading meetings, driving agendas, and setting high expectations.
  • Understand business functions, clients, and products to guide the team through change and solution challenges.
  • Foster strong collaboration and high emotional intelligence to build productive relationships across teams.
  • Act as a self-starter, performing independently while leading team efforts to enhance service quality.
  • Engage in initiatives to improve overall service quality and promote employee engagement.
  • Serve as a mentor and coach for others, maintaining a focus on diversity and inclusion.
Qualifications:
  • A College or University degree along with relevant proven work experience.
  • Certifications in Agile project management are advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5-10+ years of experience in Agile or project management is preferred.
  • Experience in Investment Management and/or Financial Services, particularly in Alternative Asset Management, is a plus.
  • Demonstrated product and/or project management experience.
  • Familiarity with Agile tools such as Azure DevOps or a willingness to learn.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Knowledge of project management tools and concepts.
  • Understanding of formal Agile methodologies and frameworks (Kanban and Scrum) is a plus.
  • Experience with PowerBI, VBA, Python, or other scripting languages is beneficial but not required.
