The Tampa General Hospital is proud to be recognized as an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI capabilities. Additionally, we offer a Level II neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and extensive maternity care services, ensuring a full spectrum of care for our patients.

As a Surgical First Assistant in our Operating Room, you will collaborate closely with surgeons to facilitate safe and effective surgical procedures. Your role will encompass specific surgical responsibilities under professional guidance, working alongside the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist surgeons in performing safe and effective surgical procedures.
  • Adhere to departmental standards for professional accountability.
  • Engage in continuing education and complete necessary advanced training.
  • Deliver age-appropriate care while demonstrating proficiency in technical and critical thinking skills.
  • Document a minimum of 150 surgical cases within the designated specialty area.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a valid Florida RN license, have completed an RNFA technology program, and have a minimum of one year of experience in an RNFA or similar role. Certification in BLS and ACLS is required, along with current credentialing as a certified first assistant.
