Position Overview

Role Summary

  • Conducts a range of specialized functions related to the execution of CT imaging.
  • Operates advanced CT machinery and associated tools while adhering to established radiation safety protocols.
  • Positions patients appropriately for CT imaging, utilizing necessary immobilization and protective gear.
  • Supports radiologists during imaging tasks, including initiating IVs and administering contrast materials when required.
  • Assists in interventional procedures involving CT imaging.
  • Reviews CT images for technical precision, organizes processed images in the correct exposure sequence, and ensures proper labeling.
  • Coordinates patient scheduling for imaging procedures and aids in administrative tasks.
  • Records accurate billing for procedures and supplies used.
  • Administers oral contrast to patients for CT imaging and operates power injectors for contrast media delivery.
  • Keeps precise patient documentation.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking, sound judgment, and the capability to operate independently.
  • Must thrive in a high-pressure environment and respond appropriately to challenges.

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Director of Ancillary Services

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist credential from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Registered Computed Tomographer certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Active licensure in West Virginia from the Board of Examiners of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
