ASRC Federal is looking for an Orbital Analyst to join our team in support of a technical and operational support services contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in the operations center, conducting monitoring and evaluation of space traffic data and computational methodologies.
- Address operational challenges related to space traffic management and technical concerns to maintain the safety and stability of the space environment.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of procedures, operational displays, and job aids essential for operational requirements and technical troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with commercial operators and stakeholders to ensure the delivery of safety services.
- Assist in developing training materials and programs to facilitate the onboarding of new team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics/Astronomy, Computer Science, or a related discipline with 1 to 6 years of relevant experience in flight dynamics or orbital mechanics.
- Associate's Degree in a related field with 3 to 8 years of experience in the same areas.
- Possession of an active Secret Clearance is mandatory.
- Familiarity with software systems, development environments, or programming languages such as Python and Linux.
- Experience in Satellite Operations and Orbital Analysis is essential.
- Knowledge of collision avoidance for large-scale satellite constellations.
- Ability to interpret Space Situational Awareness (SSA) data and provide specified services.
- Understanding of procedural proficiency to deliver data and services within the operations center.
- Experience with NASA high-value Resident Space Objects (RSOs).
- Proficiency in analyzing orbital state vectors and propagated ephemerides with associated covariances.
