Nurse Surgical Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to deliver exceptional patient care in our 30-bed surgical care unit. In this role, you will provide direct nursing care to patients who are acutely ill and recovering from various medical and post-surgical conditions.

Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Registered Nurse, your primary responsibilities will include delivering patient-centered care, participating in patient and family education, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement personalized care plans. You will also utilize computerized documentation systems to monitor and record patient conditions, ensuring seamless communication among healthcare staff. Additionally, you will coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team, prioritizing efficient transitions of care.
To excel in this role, you should possess a graduate degree in nursing (BSN preferred) and hold a current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or a Multistate Compact License. One year of medical-surgical experience in an acute care hospital setting is highly valued. Current Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association is also required.
