Job Title: Medical Director of CPEP

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Director to lead our Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing all clinical and administrative activities within the CPEP, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, continuous performance improvement, community liaison, and advocacy.

Responsibilities:

  • Directly and indirectly supervise psychiatrists and psychiatric PA staff
  • Participate in the management of complex cases in an administrative and consultative role
  • Coordinate the scheduling of psychiatric and PA coverage
  • Collect and analyze data integral to quality control
  • Maintain a good working relationship with services within and outside of the department of psychiatry to ensure high-quality care for patients who present to the CPEP
  • Review and revise guidelines for standards of care to ensure the CPEP meets or exceeds OMH requirements
  • Take a leadership role in hospital and corporation quality improvement measures
  • Provide leadership in undergraduate medical education, including participating in clinical and didactic teaching of medical students, PA students, NP students, and addiction fellows
  • Work collaboratively with the Medical and Pediatric Emergency Departments

Qualifications:

  • Eligible for licensure in the state of New York
  • ABMS Board Certified or Board eligible
  • Graduated from ACGME or AOA approved training program

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in psychiatric ER or CPEP
  • Superior clinical, diagnostic, interpersonal, and team-building skills
  • Previous administrative/leadership experience
