Speech-Language Pathologist

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Speech-Language Pathologist to provide comprehensive speech and language services to students in our school district.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct assessments to identify speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and therapy plans tailored to each student's needs.
- Provide direct therapy services to students individually or in small groups, focusing on speech, language, voice, and fluency.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate speech and language goals into classroom and home activities.
- Monitor and document students' progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and participate in IEP meetings.
- Educate and train school staff and parents on strategies to support students' communication skills.
- Maintain accurate records, including progress notes, reports, and other required documentation.
- Comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as school district policies and procedures.
- Education: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Current Speech-Language Pathologist license issued by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.
- Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Nebraska Department of Education Certification: Must hold or be eligible to obtain a Nebraska Professional Educator Certificate with an endorsement in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Clearances: Must pass a criminal background check and provide a current tuberculosis (TB) test clearance as required by Nebraska schools.
- Experience: Previous experience in a school setting is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices.
- Familiarity with school-based therapy models and the IEP process.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
- The position requires working in a school environment, which may involve travel between schools within the district.
- May require lifting or moving equipment used in therapy sessions.
