Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Imaging Tech Assistant to join our team at Tucson Medical Center. In this role, you will be responsible for performing receptionist duties, scheduling appointments, and assisting with various scans and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform receptionist duties for patient care or technical areas, including receiving and directing telephone calls and messages.
  • Assist visitors, staff, and patients by providing directions to hospital locations or calling for an escort when necessary.
  • Use scheduling systems to schedule procedures and follow up to ensure all scripts and previous scans are digitized and ready for viewing.
  • Prepare patients for scans and assist technologists with various procedures.
  • Digitize a wide variety of films and ensure quality control before finalizing.
  • Retrieve and file images in designated areas and submit required radiology files to physicians.
  • Assemble and prepare equipment for scans and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
  • Transport patients as needed and adhere to TMC organizational and department-specific safety, confidentiality, values policies and standards.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Six (6) months experience in a health-related field preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heartsaver CPR (HSCPR or HSFACPR) required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of healthcare records and best practices for maintaining records.
  • Skill in assisting professional staff by preparing patients.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, complete routine reports, and speak effectively before groups.

This is a full-time day shift position that requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
