Nurse - Direct Patient Care Specialist

Job Summary
">The Licensed Practice Nurse provides direct patient care, educates patients and families, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to maintain high standards of nursing care. This role requires a strong foundation in basic nursing skills, knowledge of evidence-based practices, and excellent communication and teamwork skills.

- Collect comprehensive data pertinent to patients' health or situations.">
- Identify and report changes in patients' status to registered nurses for evaluation.">
- Document nursing activities accurately and in a timely manner.">
- Work within the team nursing model to implement identified plans, coordinate care delivery, and promote health and safety under the direction of registered nurses.">
- Administer treatments and other direct care, including preparing and administering medications as prescribed.">
- Observe and evaluate residents' responses to medications, identifying and promptly communicating adverse drug reactions to registered nurses.">
- Collect specimens as ordered.">
- Interact with and contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues.">
- Collaborate with patients, families, and others in conducting nursing practice.">
Requirements
">- ">
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.">
- Current licensure to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Ohio.">
- IV certified.">
- Current BLS certification.">
- Demonstrate proficiency in basic nursing services, knowledge, and skills.">
- Demonstrate knowledge of evidence-based practices.">
Working Conditions

- Working hours vary according to departmental needs.">
- Works under the direct supervision of an RN.">
- Lunch and break periods will be assigned by the Charge RN.">
- Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.">
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods.">
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.">
- May require exposure to communicable disease, body fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other potentially hazardous conditions common to a clinical environment.">
- Subject to frequent interruptions and changes in priority of duties throughout the day.">
Estimated Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
