Asbestos Abatement Specialist

COIT Cleaning & Restoration Services is seeking a highly skilled Asbestos Abatement Technician to join our team. As a key member of our environmental remediation team, you will be responsible for safely removing hazardous materials such as asbestos, lead, and mold from various environments.

• Remove asbestos, mold, and other hazardous materials from ceilings, walls, and other structures.
• Identify materials to dispose of and work with construction site managers to ensure safe removal.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times and use power tools to remove asbestos from walls or furniture.
• Apply chemical compounds to lead-based paint and shovel asbestos into plastic disposal bags.
• Research and train on proper removal of materials such as lead, mercury, asbestos, lead-based paint, waste oil, fuel, transmission fluid, and contaminated soil.
• Clean work areas of loose asbestos using vacuums, brooms, and dustpans.
• Spray chemical solutions over asbestos-covered surfaces to soften asbestos.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in asbestos abatement or a related field.
• Ability to recognize problems and rectify them.
• Driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Basic mathematics skills.

This position will require working in environments with hazardous materials, including asbestos, mold, and other hazardous substances. You will also be required to work overtime, including nights and weekends, and may be exposed to varying temperatures.
