Machining Operations Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Machining Craft Supervisor to join our team on our 2nd shift. As a key member of our Ship Repair team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient execution of our projects and delivery of high-quality products to our customers.
About This Role
This position is responsible for overseeing the daily work performed in the Shop, ensuring that we pursue Company goals for Safety, Quality, and Productivity. You will develop and/or review project schedules and budgets during the planning phase, allocate personnel and resources to support all contracts and work items, and monitor schedule performance to investigate late activities and develop practical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that the Shop is pursuing Company goals for Safety, Quality, and Productivity by overseeing the daily work performed.
- Develop and/or review project schedules and budgets during the planning phase.
- Allocate personnel and resources to efficiently support all contracts (including shift work) and work items.
- Monitor and evaluate project budget performance, including review of ongoing and upcoming projects, development of productivity enhancements, and investigation of over-budget items.
- Monitor productivity across all shifts, including the amount and type of work assigned as well as the quality and quantity of work accomplished.
- Perform personnel-related functions, including supervision of employees, performance management, workforce reductions, promotions, demotions, and discipline.
- Ensure that employees understand and adhere to Company policies.
- Train and motivate employees in the areas of technical knowledge, safety, environmental, and communication.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent degree required; at least 5 years of experience preferred.
- Able to read and comprehend NAVSEA standard items.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge in the relevant trade.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, supervise, and direct the work of other employees in the relevant trade or industry.
- Able to use discretion and judgment in making operations and personnel decisions.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office programs and similar software.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Able to obtain DBIDS to access Military Base.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Ship repair experience.
Pay Information
The estimated salary for this role is $87,960 - $133,870 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
