Job Summary:

The Oncology Pharmacist will be responsible for working with healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with cancer. This will involve assessing patients' medication needs, selecting the most appropriate therapies, and monitoring the effects of prescribed medications. The successful candidate will also be responsible for providing education and support to patients and their families, as well as collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with cancer
  • Assess patients' medication needs and select the most appropriate therapies
  • Monitor the effects of prescribed medications and manage adverse effects
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care
  • Safely oversee the compounding and dispensing of chemotherapy and other non-hazardous infusions
  • Work collaboratively with pharmacy technicians to maintain an adequate inventory of medications and minimize drug waste
Requirements:
  • Pharmacy degree (BS or Pharm.D.) from an ACPE-approved college of pharmacy
  • Licensed, or eligible for licensure, pharmacist in Colorado
  • Board certification in oncology desirable
  • Current BLS certification or current within 90 days of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Residency or fellowship training in oncology desirable
  • Minimum 2 years oncology experience required
