Key Responsibilities:- Perform work orders in a safe and timely manner, including emergency, on-call, make-ready, preventative, inspection, routine, or resident request repairs.
- Inspect property for improvements and repairs, and review with supervisor; immediately report unsafe conditions.
- Maintain control of inventory and utilization of maintenance materials and supplies, operate and perform scheduled maintenance on all equipment.
- Responsible for keeping work area and tools clean and in order at all times.
- Assist in keeping property free of debris and rubbish at all times.
- Know location and access to electric, gas, water, and all property shut-offs, meters, fire systems, and sewer clean outs.
- Shovel snow, remove ice, and apply ice melt to walks and driveways as conditions exist.
- Assist Property Management or other staff and contractors when requested.
- Responsible for the security of the property at all times, keeping all keys to the property in possession as appropriate, and refusing to give any unauthorized person master keys or access.
- Landscaping responsibilities, such as planting and cutting lawns, trimming and edging around walks, planting and caring for flower beds, planting and pruning bushes, trees, or shrubs, cleaning grounds, raking and bagging leaves, and removing litter.
- Minor repairs and upkeep tasks, such as repairing fences, gates, walls, and walks, painting fences, stairs/stairwells, and outbuildings, maintaining and repairing grounds equipment.
- Operate snow removal equipment to maintain parking lots, driveways, and sidewalks, apply ice melt to public passageways as needed.
- Pick up and/or deliver items from vendors or donors.
- High school diploma or General education degree (GED) and two or more years related experience and/or training.
- Valid Michigan Driver's License.
- Self-directed, capable of working independently, and responsible for completing assignments in a realistic time frame.
- Reliable vehicle and willingness to transport hand tools, parts, and supplies during work hours.
- Willingness and availability to work on-call rotation as needed.
Salary: $22.42-$27.17/hourly
