We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the Norridge Park District. As a Preschool Classroom Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a safe and engaging learning environment for young children, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the Illinois Early Learning Standards and meet the individual needs of all children.
- Provide a safe and healthy environment that follows licensing standards and accreditation requirements.
- Establish positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, promoting a sense of community and teamwork.
- Collaborate with the team to plan daily routines, activities, and events that support children's learning and development.
- Assess and document children's progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness, and making recommendations for improvement.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators, providing regular updates on children's progress and needs.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
- At least 19 years of age and able to lift and carry children and items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- DCFS background check required; Illinois Gateways to Opportunity teaching credential preferred.
- Emotional maturity, flexibility, and patience when working with children.
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly in speech and writing.
