Registered Nurse, Critical Care

Part-time position, 48 hours per pay period, Night shift

Facility Overview:
Covenant Health is a healthcare organization that encompasses a range of services, including 167 licensed beds and 23 emergency suites. Our facilities provide exceptional ancillary services such as Laboratory, Radiology, and Therapy services.

Our Breast Imaging Center of Excellence allows women to undergo annual mammograms, biopsies, and consultations with a nurse navigator as needed.

The Women's Center features six newly remodeled labor and delivery suites along with a secure nursery dedicated to the care of newborns.

Serving an extensive eight-county region, we are equipped with modern technologies and a skilled staff to ensure the highest quality of patient care.


Critical Care Unit:


The Critical Care Unit at Covenant Health consists of 12 Critical Care beds, with an additional 2 overflow beds in the Intermediate Care Unit.

Our small nurse-to-patient ratios enable our staff to provide optimal care for critically ill patients.

We foster a warm and welcoming team environment that promotes healing for patients, their families, and our staff.


Position Summary:
The role involves delivering professional nursing care within a designated unit while coordinating care planning with other healthcare disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:
- Correlate patient history and support systems within hospital and nursing home care.
- Assess the needs of patients and their families.
- Develop and initiate comprehensive care plans, engaging patients and families in the process.
- Recommend appropriate interventions.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans.
- Demonstrate clinical expertise to resolve complex patient, management, and physician issues independently.


- Exhibit competence in performing critical skills tailored to the age-specific needs of the population served.

- Lead process improvement initiatives within the unit or participate in facility-wide teams.
- Mentor new employees or students and engage in formal preceptor workshops.
- Provide educational activities beyond basic patient education.
- Contribute to the development and assessment of the unit orientation program.
- Supervise LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs, and sitters.
- Adhere to policies, procedures, and safety standards while completing annual education assignments. Actively work towards achieving departmental goals and participate in quality improvement initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:
Minimum Education:


Education requirements are determined by the standards necessary for obtaining the required licensure and/or certification.


Minimum Experience:
At least one (1) year of professional nursing experience is required.

Licensure Requirement:
Must possess and maintain a valid RN license and CPR certification.
