Job Title: Postdoctoral Fellow

This is a unique opportunity to join Clemson University as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the field of climate-smart agriculture. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating measurements to determine greenhouse gas emissions and soil nutrient accumulation in beef cattle operations in response to climate-smart practices implemented.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect, summarize, and develop reports about measurements from each recruited farm (40% effort)
  • Collect additional information on pasture and animal management from each farm, including forage samples for nutritive value and animal output (20% effort)
  • Coordinate with Extension Associates to recruit farms and implement climate-smart practices (10% effort)
  • Work with the Market Development group to provide information for their objectives (10% effort)
  • Assist the field technician with greenhouse gas collection chambers and soil sampling equipment (20% effort)
Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have earned a PhD in Animal Sciences or a related field. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for this role.
