Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Recreation Therapist to join our team at St. Joseph Medical Center. As a Recreation Therapist, you will be responsible for conducting a therapeutic recreation program within the hospital to facilitate the rehabilitation of physically and mentally disabled patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct patient participation in selected activities such as games, social activities, sports, or music to create an atmosphere of sociability and provide a means of creative expression.
  • Facilitate the learning of skills for recreating during hospitalization and after discharge in the community.
  • Create an environment that allows patients to explore their own potential, cultivate positive morale, and minimize distress of illness.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Recreation Therapy or a related field.
  • Minimum one year of experience in Behavioral Healthcare, rehabilitative, or SNF setting preferred.
