Become a vital part of our community at Washington and Lee University, where we prioritize diversity and inclusivity. We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Custodian responsible for ensuring cleanliness and order in designated areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine cleaning of classrooms, restrooms, and common areas
  • Assist in the setup and teardown of events, including athletic competitions
  • Maintain the condition of various surfaces, including floors and furnishings
  • Manage equipment and supply inventory
  • Provide laundry services and support equipment oversight
  • Contribute to campus events and special initiatives

Work Schedule: 10:00 am - 6:30 pm, 40 hours per week

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED preferred
  • Previous experience in a custodial or maintenance role preferred
  • Ability to follow instructions and utilize basic computer software
  • Valid Virginia driver's license and a clean driving record required

Physical Requirements: Capable of various physical activities including walking, standing, bending, and lifting

Working Conditions:
  • Exposure to vibrations and potential hazards
  • Contact with oils and cleaning agents

Position Type: Non-Exempt, Full Time, Eligible for Benefits

Salary: Compensation based on experience
