Job Summary:
Alcom of Florida is seeking a skilled Aluminum Welder to join our team. As an Aluminum Welder, you will be responsible for performing Aluminum MIG Arc Welding (AMAW) on fixtures, parts, and ramps. You will also be required to perform some TIG welding and operate and maintain setups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reads job order and blueprint specifications.
- Checks the blueprint and job order before starting any operation and refers to the blueprint throughout the day.
- Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Flips the trailer, with the help of a flipper or co-worker, in order to weld the other side of the trailer.
- Verifies specifications by inspecting completed component.
- Responsible for the safety of the equipment being used and notifies the lead or manager of the need for equipment repairs.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Recognizes obvious defective or damaged parts, incorrect sizes, faulty workmanship, and general quality. Double checks job order to finished product.
- Evaluates and recommends changes in methods and procedures.
- Must be able to follow directives and procedures and complete paperwork.
- Work area must be maintained as clean and organized.
- Works in compliance with all safety, quality, quantity, and housekeeping standards in accordance with company policies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
- Supports all Continuous Improvement initiatives including 6S and Kaizen events.
Requirements:
- Aluminum welding experience is required. Must pass aluminum weld test.
- Must be able to read blueprints.
- Must be able to read tape measure and follow a job order.
- Good verbal and written communication skills are required.
