Overview

The Dartmouth Health Neurology Clinic is a specialized care provider for patients with complex neurological conditions. With over 30,000 annual visits, our team of professionals works together to deliver exceptional patient care. Our clinic operates from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, allowing staff to maintain consistency and balance in their personal and professional lives.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Care Assistant to join our Neurology Clinic team. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in assisting patients with their provider visits, including obtaining vital signs, reviewing medication, and supporting procedures. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining a clean and safe work environment, assisting visitors, and answering telephones.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform various patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary for patient comfort and well-being.
  • Assist nursing service personnel with patient care duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Maintain direct access to secure medication locations to manage storage, handling, and disposal of medications according to policy.

Your primary responsibility will be assisting patients with provider visits, which includes performing ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), collecting clinical data, and utilizing universal precautions. You will also assist with maintaining a clean and safe work environment by keeping hallways clear of excess equipment and emptying linen bags when full.

Qualifications:
  • A high school graduate required.
  • Must demonstrate keyboarding skills and be familiar with computer use.
  • Previous hospital experience preferred.

To be successful in this role, you must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You should also be able to lift up to 25 pounds, stand for long periods, and move quickly between rooms.

What We Offer

In return for your hard work and dedication, we offer a competitive salary range of $35,000 - $45,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, we provide comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid time off and holidays.
