Job SummaryThe Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the delivery of safe and effective patient-centered care in a variety of settings.
The Registered Nurse communicates with physicians, managers, and coworkers about changes in patient's clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities- Adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments in a professional manner to provide patient-centered care.
- Demonstrate effective communication, conflict resolution, team building, and leadership skills.
- Comply with Sheridan Memorial Hospital's Kindness First Service Standards.
- Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
- Assess and reassess pain, utilizing appropriate pain management techniques, including non-pharmacological techniques.
- Coordinate and supervise patient care as necessary.
- Formulate a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluate effectiveness of learning.
- Document patient care according to current standards and policies.
- Consult other departments as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient's needs.
- Provide care appropriate to disease condition and age of the patient.
- Assist physicians with procedures and perform services requiring technical and manual skills.
- Report significant events, such as near misses, adverse events, patient/family complaints, and any situation that affects the safe delivery of patient-centered care in a timely manner.
Current unrestricted Wyoming Registered Nurse Licensure.
BLS certification, required.
BSN, preferred.
Minimum of one year of acute care experience, preferred.
Department Specific Education/Experience/License and Certifications:
Minimum of 1 year acute care experience, preferable in: Cath/IR Lab/EP Lab, Interventional Radiology/Special Procedures, Radiology, surgical, intensive care, emergency care, or endoscopy.
ACLS certification within 1 year of position start date, required.
RCIS, CVRN or CHFN certification, preferred.
