JOB SUMMARY

As a Cloud Infrastructure Specialist at Code, you will be part of a team responsible for delivering software products and operational services utilized by millions of students and educators in K-12 classrooms worldwide.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a key member of our Infrastructure team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing code and configuring systems that facilitate the building, monitoring, scaling, testing, securing, and deployment of our products.
  • Taking ownership of projects and constructing features from inception to completion while tackling exciting technical challenges.
  • Collaborating with team members, fellow engineers, product managers, and staff across the organization to create and maintain accessible and efficient systems.
  • Regularly deploying software while ensuring high live site availability.
  • Contributing to a culture of inclusivity, growth, and collaboration within the team.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Specialist who can adeptly navigate a comprehensive technology stack and is eager to implement systemic enhancements. While our primary technologies include Ruby on Rails, React, JavaScript & TypeScript, MySQL, AWS, and various third-party tools and open-source libraries, we welcome expertise in similar technology stacks. This role is ideal for individuals who possess a solid technical foundation and a collaborative spirit towards problem-solving.

Ideal candidates will have a combination of the following skills and experiences:

  • Cloud Engineering: Proficient in AWS configuration and infrastructure management, with hands-on experience in CloudFormation, Chef, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Application & Infrastructure Security: Knowledgeable in risk assessment and securing web applications and cloud infrastructure, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities.
  • Web Application Server Engineering: Familiarity with Unix environments, Docker containers, and configuration management tools, with a focus on optimizing web server performance.
  • Database Administration: Experience with AWS RDS Aurora MySQL, S3, DynamoDB, and data visualization tools, along with a strong understanding of database management.
  • Site Reliability Engineering: Expertise in supporting high-traffic systems, including incident management and performance optimization.
  • Backend Platform Engineering: Familiarity with coding in Ruby on Rails or similar frameworks, focusing on building robust and scalable platforms.
  • UI Test Automation: Experience with testing tools emphasizing quality assurance and efficient testing strategies.
