Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician 2 to join our team at Northrop Grumman in Huntsville, AL. This role will support the Strategic Deterrent System (SDS) Division and involve performing repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment.
  • Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities and machinery.
  • Substantial acquaintance with and understanding of general aspects of the job with a broad understanding of the detailed aspects of the job.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or experience working in the facility maintenance career field as a Maintenance Technician.
  • Strong computer, math, analytical, and planning skills.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes, methods and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and/or devices.
  • Active, In scope DoD Secret or SCI clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Comfortable working on computers.
  • CMMS experience.
  • Hands-on Maintenance experience with Mechanical Systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Work Schedule

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
