Job Summary

MLGW is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team. As an Engineer 4, you will serve as the Division's technical expert on analyzing proposed changes to electric, gas, water, or facilities designs that could impact arc fault incident energy. You will utilize modeling software to calculate arc fault values and verify these new values with a P.E. stamp of ownership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze proposed changes to electric, gas, water, or facilities designs for potential impact on arc fault incident energy.
  • Utilize modeling software to calculate arc fault values and verify these new values with a P.E. stamp of ownership.
  • Review proposed electric, gas, water, or facility designs/operations that impact potential changes to arc fault incident energy.
  • Meet with internal SME's as needed for clarity on design implications.
  • Direct regulatory compliance functions as it relates to all arc flash safety regulations and standards.
  • Execute any necessary documentation and organize all analysis results so they are readily available for review both internally and externally.
  • Act as the Division's arc flash compliance liaison and give arc flash presentations or reports with all internal and external authorities if necessary.
Qualifications

To perform the Engineer 4 role, you must:

  • Have a Tennessee Professional Engineer's License.
  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Have 6 years of experience related to either electric distribution, transmission, substation design or arc flash analysis studies.
  • Be able to apply electrical engineering principles to the discipline of arc flash studies.
  • Hold a valid driver's license from the state of residence.
