Critical Care Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Critical Care Nurse to join our Neuroscience ICU team at Geisinger Medical Center. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with cutting-edge neurosurgery technologies and innovations.
**Job Summary**
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, organizing, performing, and evaluating nursing activities to meet the needs of patients in the Neuroscience ICU. You will promote adaptive responses of patients and families to achieve the highest level of patient care, promote safety, and maximize patient satisfaction.
**Responsibilities**
- Assesses physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care.
- Formulates, coordinates, and provides plan of care as established in unit standards, including patient and family education, family needs, and discharge planning.
- Provides direct patient care, including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policy and procedure.
- Evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and revises plan of care based upon patient response to interventions.
- Initiates collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other interdisciplinary team members to proactively resolve and facilitate patient needs.
**Requirements**
- Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required)
- Certification(s) and License(s): Basic Life Support Certification; Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania)
