Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. This figure includes competitive pay, benefits, and incentives.

Job Description

As a CDL A driver, you will be responsible for driving a tractor trailer or straight truck to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products to customers. Your role will involve:

  • Performing all required safety checks, including pre/post trip inspections, to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations;
  • Following all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies;
  • Inspecting trailers for properly loaded and secured freight;
  • Counting and verifying customer invoices for products loaded;
  • Completing all necessary paperwork associated with freight;
  • Delivering customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedules;
  • Unloading products from the trailer and transporting items into designated customer storage areas;
  • Performing damage control checks on items and verifying delivery with customers;
  • Collecting money (cash or checks) where required;
  • Loading customer returns onto the trailer and securing trailer doors.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid CDL-A license;
  • 1 year of commercial driving experience;
  • 1 year of tractor trailer driving experience;
  • A clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years;
  • Pass a post-offer drug test and criminal background check;
  • Pass a road test;
  • A valid current DOT Health Card;
  • Ability to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight.
