In this role, you will be tasked with the operation of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems to obtain diagnostic images of patients. Your expertise and meticulousness will play a crucial role in delivering precise and high-quality imaging outcomes, facilitating the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct MRI examinations on patients in accordance with established protocols and physician directives.
- Ensure proper positioning of patients and prioritize their comfort throughout the imaging process.
- Operate MRI machinery and modify settings to achieve optimal imaging results.
- Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or discomfort during the imaging procedure.
- Assess images for quality and ensure compliance with diagnostic standards.
- Collaborate with radiologists and medical professionals to interpret and analyze imaging findings.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of performed procedures.
- Adhere to safety protocols and uphold a clean and organized workspace.
Essential Skills:
- Expertise in operating MRI systems and associated equipment.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow instructions meticulously.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with patients, physicians, and colleagues.
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to address technical issues that may arise during imaging.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification as an MRI Technologist from an accredited institution.
- Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- State licensure or certification as mandated by the state of practice.
- CPR certification (BLS).
