Position Overview:
As a vital member of Sutter Health, the Staff Pharmacist plays a crucial role in ensuring the prompt and precise preparation and distribution of medications within the healthcare facility. This role is essential in confirming that medication orders align with established medical practices, FDA guidelines, and pharmaceutical manufacturer recommendations. Any discrepancies from these standards must be addressed in collaboration with the Medical Staff Organization, adhering to established protocols.

Responsibilities:
- Provide expert information and guidance regarding the appropriate administration of medications upon request from healthcare professionals.
- Engage in Drug Utilization Review procedures and Therapeutic Drug Monitoring to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain proficiency in computer systems and software relevant to pharmacy operations.

Qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor of Science or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited pharmacy institution is required. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Licensure: Must possess a valid Pharmacist license (PHARMD).
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is preferred, with residency or fellowship training being advantageous.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of pharmacokinetics, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and familiarity with relevant PC programs are essential.

Work Schedule:
This position operates on a Per Diem/Casual basis with variable shift hours, requiring flexibility in scheduling.
