Key Responsibilities- Provide professional nursing care to patients at the intermediate practitioner level, utilizing the nursing process and adhering to clinical standards.
- Coordinate care planning with other disciplines and lead by example in interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Coach and mentor Clinical Nurse I staff in developing and coordinating primary nurse case loads and plans of care.
- Independently recognize subtle changes in patient condition and modify plans of care accordingly.
- Administer prescribed treatments, medications, and nursing interventions based on assessment and plan of care.
- Initiate emergency action in response to acute risk situations and lead by example in crisis management.
- Organize and prioritize time based on higher acuity patient assignments and increased workload.
- Evaluate patient care and promote goal-directed change to achieve patient outcomes.
- Discuss, document, and apply Performance Initiatives and outcomes at the unit level as they relate to WellSpan Wildly Important Goals (WIGs) and Nursing Sensitive Indicators (NSIs).
- Monitor the effectiveness of interventions and progress toward outcomes for more complex groups of patients.
- Identify and facilitate individualized patient needs for transfer/discharge and include patient/family in decisions.
- Seek learning opportunities and resources beyond own work environment and incorporate new knowledge and skills into practice.
- Meet mandatory criteria for CNAP II level and demonstrate leadership at point of care.
- Provide leadership for problem solving and goal formation and apply current WIGs to care delivery.
- Take on charge duties/responsibilities and anticipate needs for alterations in staffing for upcoming 24 hours.
- Accountable for completion of required charge nurse responsibilities and demonstrate ownership of patients beyond individual assignments.
- Promote cooperation and communication among all team members and seek opportunities to assist co-workers without compromising individual responsibilities.
- Give feedback to team members about unique strengths and contributions and consistently interact with others in a positive, supportive manner.
- Flexible with schedule and assignments and adapt to changing unit conditions.
- Display conflict resolution and negotiation skills to maximize team performance and provide feedback in a positive and respectful way.
- Act as coach to CNI staff for clinical issues and potential advancement opportunities.
- Diploma Program or Associates Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
- 2 years relevant experience required; OCN - oncology certified or at least chemo/bio course and chemotherapy experience preferred.
- EPIC experience preferred.
- Licensed Registered Nurse upon hire required or Registered Nurse Multi-State License upon hire required.
- Basic Life Support upon hire required.
- Complete at least a 40-credit-hour, NBDHMT-approved Hyperbaric Medicine Introductory Course upon hire required.
