Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated English Language Arts Educator to join our team at Queen City Academy Charter School. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our students and contributing to the school's mission of academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Learning: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote students' independent and collaborative reading, writing, and discussion skills.
  • Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Regularly analyze student comprehension and writing to determine how to adapt and improve instruction.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Partner with department colleagues and grade-level teams to develop and implement content and instructional strategies that support student learning.
  • Differentiated Instruction: Learn and implement strategies to differentiate instruction for all learners in the classroom.
  • Parent and Community Engagement: Build positive relationships with students and their families to ensure they feel seen, loved, and heard.
  • Professional Development: Engage in practice-based professional development, mentorship, and coaching sessions to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Hold a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and certification as appropriate. Provide a copy of a valid New Jersey Certificate or proof of passing the required PRAXIS tests.
  • Cultural Competence: Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and ability to communicate with parents and students across lines of difference.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Possess mastery of subject matter content and a basic understanding of child development.
  • Team Player: Be a team player with high expectations for students and a positive, professional attitude.
