What does the role entail?

Operational Leadership / Training:

  • Directs work activities; supervises team members; acts as a communication link for management
  • Trains team members on customer service, compliance, food safety, sanitation, and equipment usage
  • Collaborates with management during peak hours; undertakes closing responsibilities as necessary; may serve as backup to the Manager
  • Assists with inventory management and purchasing tasks, and technical areas as required
  • Engages in front-of-house service tasks as needed

Customer Service / Sales:

  • Delivers superior customer service; ensures a safe environment for all guests through responsible serving; addresses customer inquiries; assists with menu and beverage selections, including alcoholic options
  • Provides comprehensive information on menu items and specials, as well as beer and wine
  • Resolves complaints; addresses issues for guests and team members in a manner that fosters strong relationships
  • Effectively merchandises products; employs suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and enhance department sales
  • Frequently performs front-of-house duties
  • Proficiently executes back-of-house tasks as needed, including food preparation, plating, and ingredient ordering
Compliance / Food Safety / Sanitation:

  • Ensures adherence to TABC regulations
  • Guarantees compliance with departmental and store standard operating procedures
  • Completes logs for areas of responsibility (e.g., temperature logs)
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of sales areas, display cases, preparation zones, and equipment
What is your background?

  • Minimum age of 18 (mandatory)
  • Experience in restaurant leadership
  • Familiarity with H-E-B Restaurants (preferred)
  • Experience with restaurant Point of Sale (POS) systems (preferred)
  • Completion of Alcohol Seller Training / Cash Handling training upon hire
